Presented and narrated by travel expert Nino Mohan
Start with learning about the geography of the areas visited.
Today we will enjoy a journey through South America. We will begin with Manaus in the heart of the Amazon Rainforest, continue to the second largest city in Brazil, Rio de Janeiro famed for its Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, 125 feet high ‘Christ the Redeemer’ statue atop Mount Corcovado and for Sugarloaf Mountain. The city is also known for its raucous Carnival festival, featuring parade floats, flamboyant costumes and samba dancers, it is considered the world’s largest Carnival.
Continue to the mighty Iguassu Falls, located at the borders of Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay. Iguassu Falls are the widest falls in the world (2.7 km/1.7 miles). See spectacular falls from viewpoints on the trails and also from a boat.
We will then visit Argentina’s most important city Buenos Aires with its colorful neighborhoods and fantastic sights. Enjoy the wine growing regions of Mendoza and cross the Andes into Santiago, Chile and its lush wine growing regions. Fly to Southern Chile for a spectacular journey by a series of boats and buses across the Andes to the beautiful city of San Carlos de Bariloche, the Switzerland of Argentina. Patagonia is a region encompassing the vast southernmost tip of South America, shared by Argentina and Chile, with the Andes Mountains as its dividing line. The Argentine side features arid steppes, grasslands and deserts, while the Chilean side has glacial fjords and temperate rainforest. Argentina’s famed RN-40 highway passes the pinnacles of Monte Fitz Roy and Perito Moreno Glacier in Los Glaciers National Park.
We will visit the largest glaciers up close in southern Argentina – the Perito Moreno Glacier near El Calafate. Finally, we will visit Chile’s Patagonia region at the Torres Del Paine national Park, one of the most beautiful places in the world.
